Last week all of our Year 7 pupils were kindly invited to take part in a range of lesson activities at Glengormley High School. We believe such activity days provide valuable experiences for all children in helping them to prepare for their transition to secondary school. The children took part in a range of lessons including the following;
Maths where they investigated a bungee jumping elf
Music where they created their own Christmas sound stories
Technology where they made a Christmas decoration
Science where they investigated gases and chemicals
Art where they got the opportunity to print Christmas cards
ICT where they took photos and used photoshop to manipulate an image of themselves to make a Christmas bauble
It was a very enjoyable day of learning and experiencing a secondary school environment. We were warmly welcomed by the all the staff and pupils at Glengormley High and we greatly appreciate the gift of a bird feeder that we can put in our school grounds.
