Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the Whitehouse Primary School website.

Our open night for families with children beginning Nursery and Year 1 in September 2020 will be held on Thursday 28th November 2019 from 5-7pm.

Information talks will take place in the assembly hall at 5:30pm and 6:30pm. We would like to welcome all potential pupils and parents to tour the school, meet the staff and see what we have to offer.

We are very proud of our school and are honoured that so many parents entrust us with the care and education of their children. We have four key values which underpin who we are as a school and what we strive to achieve.

Our values are:

  1. To be a happy and healthy environment.
  2. To develop skilled learners and flexible thinkers.
  3. To value partnerships both locally and globally.
  4. To inspire high aspirations and achievements.

We hope as you look through this website you can see these values behind everything that we do. You can watch the video below to get more of a flavour of what life is like at Whitehouse!

Best wishes,

D Blain

(Acting Principal)

Positive Value of the Month

November is RESPECTFUL

Respect
Outside everyone is different
Inside we're just the same.
Everyone has feelings.
How many can you name?
The way that you treat others
Is the way that they'll treat you.
So respect each other's differences
And they'll respect yours too.

Internet Safety: Each month our ICT team are going to publish a Whitehouse Primary Online Safety Newsletter.  All information is up to date and there will be lots of tips and advice to help keep everyone safe online. Be sure to download it and share important information with your children.

Right of the Month

During November, we are focusing on the 4 main principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child:

  • Right to life, survival and development (Article 6);
  • Right to non-discrimination (Article 2);
  • Right to express views freely (Article 12);
  • Right to have a child's best interests taken as a primary consideration in all matters affecting them (Article 3).

These represent the underlying requirements for all rights to be realised.

You can find out more information about children's rights in Northern Ireland from the website of the Commissioner for Children and Young People - niccy.org.
