Right of the Month

Article 42

"Governments must actively work to make sure children and adults know about the Convention."

During the month of September, the Rights Respecting School Steering Group will be working hard to help everyone in our school community learn more about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Each Friday in September, there will be a Rights Respecting School assembly. After these assemblies, the pupils will be given a series of activities and competitions to complete with an adult at home.

Our first activity is to look together at our school charter. Our charter, which was written by the steering group, shows some of the rights which focus, in particular, on the school setting. It also sets out how pupils, staff and parents can show respect for these rights.
