Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the Whitehouse Primary School website.

Our open night for families with children beginning Nursery and Year 1 in September 2020 will be held on Thursday 28th November 2019 from 5-7pm.

Information talks will take place in the assembly hall at 5:30pm and 6:30pm. We would like to welcome all potential pupils and parents to tour the school, meet the staff and see what we have to offer.

We are very proud of our school and are honoured that so many parents entrust us with the care and education of their children. We have four key values which underpin who we are as a school and what we strive to achieve.

Our values are:

  1. To be a happy and healthy environment.
  2. To develop skilled learners and flexible thinkers.
  3. To value partnerships both locally and globally.
  4. To inspire high aspirations and achievements.

We hope as you look through this website you can see these values behind everything that we do. You can watch the video below to get more of a flavour of what life is like at Whitehouse!

Best wishes,

D Blain

(Acting Principal)

Positive Value of the Month

December is CARING

This month we will be discussing what is means to be caring to others and reminding pupils of the following ways they can show they care.

  • Being sensitive towards others and showing concern and sympathy.
  • Be polite.
  • Be affectionate.
  • Listen to people.
  • Be more generous.
  • Treat others like you want to be treated.
  • Say sorry when you need to.

Internet Safety: Each month our ICT team are going to publish a Whitehouse Primary Online Safety Newsletter.  All information is up to date and there will be lots of tips and advice to help keep everyone safe online. Be sure to download it and share important information with your children.

Right of the Month

Everyone under the age of 18 has all the rights in the Convention (Article 1).

This month we are focusing on Article 1.

Children are ‘rights holders’. They hold all the rights listed in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

These rights are:

  • Universal meaning for all children, everywhere, all of the time.

  • Unconditional meaning they are not a reward and not dependent on a responsibility or performing an action to get them. However, because they are universal and for everyone equally, our actions should respect the rights of others and not deny their rights. This isrights respecting behaviour and actions.

  • Inalienable meaning you cannot give them away or sell them and no one can take them from you.

  • Indivisible meaning no right is more important than another one. They are a whole package and they are interlinked.

  • Inherent meaning they are yours because you are born a human.
