Y7 Step Back in Time -Visit to Hillsborough Castle
Year 7 enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. They stepped back in time to experience life in the Victorian era. Dressed in Victorian style clothing the children took part in an interactive activity that involved interviewing and employing servants for the “big house”. They learned about the various roles and responsibilities of Victorian servants and gained a fascinating insight into daily life for both the servants and the wealthy families they served. The visit brought history to life and helped to deepen the pupils’ understanding of Victorian society in an engaging and memorable way.
The children also enjoyed exploring the gardens and playing games on the lawn. A great day was had by all and we all went home with many happy memories.
