This term we have been trying to understand fractions better. We have done lots of activities, including one with a packet of Smarties. We emptied the box and counted the total number of Smarties to find the denominator. Then we sorted the sweets into their colours and used each of these amounts as the numerator for each colour. We also got to eat the Smarties at the end - which was the best bit!
