Anti Bullying Week

12th Nov 2019

Today we discussed “Anti-bullying week.”

The children were allowed to come to school with odd socks on.

This was to represent the fact that we are all unique.

We watched a PowerPoint about what bullying is and we discussed these points:

  • Bullying can be social, physical, cyber and verbal.
  • Change starts with us. We need to take action if we are being bullied or we think someone else is being bullied.
  • We revised the Whitehouse Helping Hand which tells us who we can tell if we are concerned about bullying E.G. A family member, a teacher or classroom assistant, the pastoral care - teachers in the school, Julie our counsellor or someone who leads a club we go to.
  • We watched a fun Pixar video and discussed what sort of bullying was happening within the bird’s cartoon.

Children then had the opportunity to tell others any of their experiences and also what they thought they could change to make life better for themselves and others.

This was an invaluable lesson.
