Miss Campbell's Class have a Rights Respecting Classroom!

10th Oct 2016

We have been learning all about our rights. We are writing a class charter or agreement. It will show the rights that we feel are most applicable to our classroom, and the ways in which we can ensure everyone's rights are respected.

We began by reading our rights as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We worked in groups to choose the nine rights that we thought were most important. Then we ranked them from most to least important. There was a lot of debate about which rights we felt should go at the top.

We then, as a class, chose the 5 rights we felt were most important and talked about what we needed to do to respect those rights. This has become our classroom charter.

Now we have to decide how we will display the charter. Watch this space for a photograph!
