Principal's Welcome

Welcome to our new website. We are very proud of our pupils and the success of our school. We aim to serve our community by providing a high quality of education for all our pupils.  At the very centre of all we do are the children in our care. Our intention is that this updated website will give all who visit it a very clear impression of what our school aims to achieve.

We hope as you explore the website that you get all the information you require. If, however, you need any questions answered please contact the school office or arrange an interview. We are always very willing to welcome visitors to our school.

April was another exciting and memorable month.  We enjoyed a wonderful day on the 21st April as we celebrated the Queen's 90th Birthday.  The children engaged in many fun and stimulating learning activities.  At lunchtime our canteen staff went the 'extra mile' and provided our own Whitehouse Street Party to mark this special day.

On Friday 29th April we held our first Michael Morpurgo theme day.  All Key Stage 2 pupils studied a text from this wonderful writer in the weeks before the big day.  All the children attended an assembly to hear about the life, writing habits and the work of Michael Morpurgo.  The climax was a house table quiz.  Over 150 pupils competed for the hoard of house gold.  A team from the Giants won the quiz and collected five gold coins for their house.

At Whitehouse Primary School we want to provide all our pupils with an album of happy 'snaps' from their childhood.  In many ways this month's wide range of events represents our school's ethos in a very concrete way. 'Learning to Live' is our vision statement.  Our school strives for high academic standards but we never compromise in nurturing our pupils' enjoyment of life.

Thank you for visiting our site.

Positive Value of the Month

Be ready to always forgive.

This month's value word is forgiveness.  We all make mistakes and it is important to also be ready to forgive others when they let us down.  This month we will be watching for children who show that they are ready to forgive others.

Internet Safety Hint:

When others use the internet foolishly never try and get your own back.  Tell an adult and ask them to speak to the person to encourage them to think about their behaviour.  Be slow to act and ready to forgive.  Be the better person and do the right thing!
