Welcome back for another great year! School begins on Tuesday 30th August.  We wish all our pupils a very happy and successful year.

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to our website. We are very proud of our pupils and the success of our school. We aim to serve our community by providing a high quality of education for all our pupils.  At the very centre of all we do, are the children in our care. Our intention is that this website will give all who visit it a very clear impression of what our school aims to achieve.

We hope as you explore the website that you get all the information you require. If, however, you need any questions answered please contact the school office or arrange an interview. We are always very willing to welcome visitors to our school.

We are so excited to welcome all our families back at the beginning of another school year.  Our hope is that all our pupils will have a fantastic year of fun and learning.

In June 2016 we concluded a very ambitious and successful school development plan.  In October 2016 we hope to launch our next three year school development plan.  It has been developed through an extensive consultation process with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.  We would like parents to attend a preview of the plan on Monday 19th September in the school hall at 7pm.  There will be refreshments served and those who attend will be given the opportunity to give us their feedback before the plan is launched.  Letters will be sent home soon for parents to book a place.  Please come along as your views are very important!

At Whitehouse Primary School we want to provide all our pupils with an album of happy 'snaps' from their childhood.  In many ways the ideas and goals in our new school development plan represents our school's ethos in a very concrete way. 'Learning to Live' is our vision statement.  Our school strives for high academic standards but we never compromise in nurturing our pupils' enjoyment of life.

Thank you for visiting our site.

Positive Value of the Month

Be ready to always forgive.

In Whitehouse Primary School we want to provide our pupils with more than a list of rules to follow.  As a school we want to work with our parents to support the children in our care to develop strong values and have a sound character.  Therefore, we have agreed our value words.  These are honesty, forgiveness, loyalty, responsibility, caring and respect.

Each month pupils are encouraged to strive towards developing one of these very valuable traits.  Teachers are watching out for pupils who are living out these values in their daily life.  Pupils are also asked to reflect on their decisions and see how they have developed these key areas.  At the end of each month a pupil in every class is awarded the 'Pupil of the Month'.  Very often this will be awarded to children who have modelled our school value.

In September, however, teachers spend time with the pupils revising all the words and discussing how they could be seen in pupils' decisions.

Internet Safety Hint:

We believe that the internet can be a great tool for learning and an amazing way to explore the world for our children.  We also know that it requires pupils to be very responsible.  We remind pupils to take care with their names and personal details when they are communicating on the internet.
