Children's Mental Health Week.

3rd Feb 2020

This is an important week.

It is Children's Mental Health Week.

We talked, again, about the importance of keeping a healthy mind.

We watched and talked about a power point on finding our brave.

We discussed what being brave means.  Here are some of our ideas:

  • Doing a new gymnastics move.
  • Speaking in front of an audience.
  • Going to Brownies for the first time.
  • Jumping safely off something high.
  • Taking a penalty in football.

We also thought about helping others feel brave, for example:

  • Holding my sister's hand so she would go on a rollercoaster.
  • Going somewhere new with someone so they will go.
  • Saying that you would help someone do something scary.

We talked about how sometimes, we need to talk to someone when we need help to be brave.

The children then did a being brave wordsearch and poster.

To conclude we said "Feel the fear and do it anyway!" which is a helpful saying.
